    Dr. Xu Chen Receives the IEEE ICC Best Paper Award

    2017年5月21日至25日, IEEE国际通信大会(IEEE International Conference on Communications,简称IEEE ICC)在法国首都巴黎召开。会上,中山大学数据科学与计算机学院陈旭教授与美国亚利桑那州立大学章君山教授合作完成的论文《When D2D Meets Cloud: Hybrid Mobile Task Offloadings in Fog Computing》获大会最佳论文奖(Best Paper Award)。该论文是本届会议在自组织与传感器网络(Ad Hoc and Sensor Networking)领域的唯一获奖论文。

    Dr. Yuanming Shi Receives the IEEE Marconi Best Paper Award

    Dr. Yuanming Shi, an assistant professor of SIST, receives the IEEE Marconi Best Paper Award.The IEEE Guglielmo Marconi Best Paper Award is an annual award, sponsored by Qualcomm Inc., for an original paper in the field of Wireless Communications published in the IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. See

    It is a great honor, particularly as a young author to receive such a recognition from the community of researchers.

    SIST Students Performed Well in 2017 American MCM/ICM Contest

    The 2017 American Mathematical Contest in Modeling / Interdisciplinary Modeling Contest (MCM / ICM) results ( were released recently. Students from SIST, ShanghaiTech University, won one Meritorious Winner award and several Honorable Mention awards, and it was the second participation of ShanghaiTech in this competition. The team of Qiang Baiqiang, Wu Binghan and Jia Feiran, which is coached by Prof. Ziyu Shao won the Meritorious Winner.

    SIST PhD Student Boqi Jia won the Best Paper Award for IEEE Globecom 2016

    Mr. Boqi Jia, SIST’s PhD student, has received the IEEE GLOBECOM 2016 Best Paper Award for his first-authored paper “The Upper Bound of Energy Efficiency for Virtual MIMO System with User Pairing”. This year, the 59th annual IEEE GLOBECOM (IEEE Global Communications Conference 2016) was held from Dec. 4th to Dec 8th in Washington D.C., U.S.A.

    Prof. Yanlin Geng Won 2016 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award

    Prof. Yanlin Geng from SIST has won the 2016 IEEE Information Theory Society Paper Award for his paper on “The capacity region of the two-receiver Gaussian vector broadcast channel with private and common messages”, which he wrote together with his former PhD supervisor Chandra Nair at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
